EMEA VAT Group Meeting

September 15, 2023


We are pleased to announce that the next meeting of the EMEA VAT GROUP will take place on Friday 15 September, 2023 at 11:00am CET.

This first meeting will be held virtually however, the next meeting will be held in person on December 4, 2023 during the EMEA Tax Meeting in the Hilton Hotel Schiphol. 

Hosted by the group Chair Joachim Brunen of WWS Wirtz, Walter, Schmitz GmbH, the proposed agenda is as follows:

  • Brief Introduction of the participants and firms
  • Countries update on VAT / Indirect Taxes (all participants are asked to contribute and share information about any hot topics from their countries)
  • E-invoicing roll out (PT 1st Jan 2023, DN 1st Jan 24, ES, FR, BE, PL 1st July 2024) 1st Jan 2025 Slovakia, Latvia, likely Germany 1st Jan 2025)
    • Basically three different technical solutions are available –country approaches
    • EU Invoicing Standard (under discussion subject to ViDa decisions)
  • EU harmonized model for EU transaction reporting from 2028
  • Any other business
